Gay Suzette Chambers considered herself an army brat. Her father was a lifer in the military and so growing up she moved every year from one fort to the next, from one coast to the other. The army life had it’s part in shaping her into the person she is today, but the Lord Jesus is the one who molded her.

It was nice to settle down in one town, Bakersfield, to raise her boys.  She enjoyed working for the same school district for 28 years until her retirement and the librarian’s job was a perfect fit. The students had inspired her to pursue a new interest in writing children’s books.

Another person who has inspired Gay was her Dad. He was a retired Major from the army and lived in Arizona with her Mom. He survived three wars. In the last war, Vietnam, he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. She would love to tell you his story, but that will have to wait for another time. In 2018 he passed away and is now with his Lord and Savior.

Gay has a wonderful husband, who encourages her in all her endeavors. They have been married 41 years and have three wonderful sons plus their lovely wives and two adorable granddaughters.
Gay is a member of Writers of Kern and SCBWI. She has an awesome critique group that meets twice a month and a wonderful Bible Study group that keeps her on the right track.
Besides writing, she knits, makes quilted bags for new babies at the church and card making.
